Although Kafka was built to replace existing pub/sub messaging frameworks, it has grown into a larger ecosystem of tools and is being used by companies as a middle layer for microservices, a strategic tool for movement to cloud ecosystems and more. Amanda will dive into the different strategies for deploying an event driven architecture and review some of the major considerations when working with Kafka in production.

Amanda Gilbert is a solutions engineer at Confluent. Though she has been programming since she was 15, she has been working in data the last 6 years. She currently works as a solutions engineer for Confluent, architecting solutions for companies reliant on Kafka and its ecosystem.
