General Data Protection Regulation
GDPR is a law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union . It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU.
Recognized as a Board Certified Specialist in Privacy and Information Security Law by the State of North Carolina, Erin Illman is an experienced thought leader in privacy, data security, and the integration of technology into business practices. Erin has a strong understanding of U.S. and international private-sector privacy laws and regulations and the legal requirements for the transfer of sensitive personal data to/from the United States, the European Union and other jurisdictions. Her practice includes representing companies in reactive incident response situations, and counseling clients on a variety of e-commerce, electronic marketing, digital contracts and security issues. She is co-chair of Bradley’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice Group and leads the firm’s Fintech team.
A member of Bradley’s Cybersecurity and Privacy team, Steve Snyder is CIPP/US certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is a registered patent attorney. He has significant industry experience as a network engineer and cyber risk manager and assists clients in navigating complex matters related to data protection arising from emerging technologies. Steve represents clients across many industries on matters related to cyber risk assessment and mitigation, and advises on post-breach issues, including interactions with regulators, law enforcement, consumers, and other third-party companies.
