Tariq has spent his career at the intersection of financial and technology industries, and is a passionate evangelist for rising tide of FinTech disruption. Prior to serving as the Executive Director of the Carolina Fintech Hub and launching his own startup, Tariq served as the Head of Innovation and Investment for FIS Global, a $9B+ fintech company. Tariq has built profitable businesses from scratch, designed and implemented global risk and cybersecurity programs, launched FinTech Accelerator programs, and completed over a dozen acquisitions. He has also held executive positions in Fortune 500 companies such as GE Capital, Wells Fargo and Wachovia.
Pasha is the Managing Director of the Carolina Fintech Hub and head of the Workforce Investment Network (WIN) program. He has previously held roles at Bank of America, QuietStream Financial, and LendingTree. Pasha received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of South Carolina.

Katie Knish, Director of Operations & Innovation. Katie began her career at IBM, working with strategy and finance at globally branded organizations. She went on to lead analytics and run operations at a rapidly growing health tech startup. Afterward, she built and ran an end-to-end acceleration program for an entire community with Sweet Studio — a mix between a venture fund and a design studio backed by the founders of King.com (their most famous game is Candy Crush Saga). She identified top players inside the local ecosystem and across Europe, executed diligence and investment, and supported growth through expertise, execution craft, and access to a global network. She also operationalized a second program for even earlier stage incubation, building teams around an idea and partnering with them through launch and additional rounds of capital injection. Most recently, she started her own consulting business and co-founded/bootstrapped an iOS app that is live and generating revenue

Tom Desmond was the Chief Financial Officer of Ally Invest, an online securities broker and wealth management company and subsidiary of Ally Financial Inc. (“Ally”). Prior to Ally Invest, he was a co-founder and CFO of TradeKing Group, Inc., which was acquired by Ally in June 2016 for $298 million. Before TradeKing, Tom was a co-founder, partner and managing director of Baird Venture Partners, LLC, a venture capital firm based in Chicago, IL. Tom earned an M.B.A. with distinction from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, an M.A. with high honors from Michigan State University and a B.A., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.

Vas Kodali is head of Advanced Technology and Partnerships at Wells Fargo. His team is responsible for driving strategic relationships with IT industry leaders, and top private investors and their portfolio companies to evaluate emerging technologies, influence technology investments, provide a technology business development platform and develop an emerging technology outlook. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Vas held several senior executive positions in strategy, technology and risk at Bank of America. Vas was previously a partner at A.T. Kearney, a global management consulting firm. Vas started his career developing expert systems at IBM.
Dave Matthews is the Technology Executive for Enterprise Technology Architecture & Shared Capabilities (ETASC) organization. He also leads the execution of the Solutions Delivery Management (SDM) program. Previously, he was the CTO/CIO for Travelocity.com. Prior to his time at Travelocity.com, Dave served as Head of American Express BSDC technology group, based in Canada. Before joining American Express, he spent 18 years at JP Morgan (now JPMorgan Chase & Co.) in London and the U.S. in various technology positions including Senior Technology Managing Director and Head of Technology.
Brad is a Principal in EY’s Financial Services Digital practice where he oversees a team of user experience designers, visual designers, product managers, and digital strategists. Brad has over twenty years of experience, split between consulting, technical product development, business development, innovation, and business and technology leadership. Brad focuses primarily on consumer banking channels and is a big proponent of combining the best of what Banks and Fintechs have to offer in order to elevate the ease and effectiveness of banking.

Brian currently serves as the Managing Director for Barings Alternative Investments. He is an investment professional with a broad range of professional experience and financial expertise, including private equity investment management, corporate development & strategy, investment banking and financial management & analysis. Brian holds a master's degree in business administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
